as the wind orchestrate the desert sand

a traveller persevered through the dry land

walking by day resting by night

on the straight way with all his might

along the way the devil barged in his heart

offering worldly pleasures to tear him apart

but the traveller refused instead he casted

a stone to the devil and left it injured

his mind is focused on the Blessed Way

"Dear God please accept me", prayed night and day

as his body weakened under the sun's heat

his faith grew stronger bit by bit

On a blessed day God with His mercy

decided to stop him from his journey

The traveller has done enough and it's time rise

to quench his thirst in Paradise...

A TRIBUTE TO THE CONFERENCE

Tuesday night at Bussuroh street
after the maghrib prayer companions meet
In a place called Al Markaz just above Wardah
In a city called Singapore, oh like duh!

Like birds we flew in and gather
make new friends with one another
then come the centre of attraction, well you know who
He's none other than, our Dear Hoopoe!

We went through stories from Attar's poetry
Good lessons learnt, never crappy
Messages the Hoopoe managed to convey
from stories like Sam'an, Rabe'eh and Abbasseh

Our Hoopoe explained meanings that were deep
Meanings that awoken us from our sleep
sleeping in the worldly pleasures and careless hearts
where complacency and Desire pierced through like darts

Days went by the conference learnt more
We flew past the ocean, away from the shore
We got closer knew one another quite well
Sharing things and of course..ehem...trip of KL
Thanks to our dear Hoopoe, Attar and his book
Conference of the Birds got us hooked

Along the way some had to go
To pursue their dreams for a better tomorrow
They may be far but their hearts so near
Always remembered in the birds' prayer
You birds are there and we are here
We will meet again one day, for sure

We all have our roles to play
As travellers on the straight Blessed Way
Reminding one another everytime we meet
to shield against evil and do good deeds
God does not see who we are or what we have
but the Faith we build as His slaves

Like one part of the Book I wish to quote
Where God said to a hermit, for us to take note
"I am the One Companion that you should keep
not some quick bargain to be marked down 'cheap"

It's time to end this humble writing
Fancy? Nice? Awww it's nothing
May God showers on us His blessings and Mercy
To the Conference, celebrate and Happy One Anniversary
Faith we uphold, good things we do
If we meet in Paradise, we go Yahoo!

Alhamdulillah.

i look up to the sky
and see the birds fly
across the oceans they fly high
towards the land of the great King
passing the clouds, they flap their wings

how i admire such bravery
a jihad against desire oh what a journey
but here i am stuck on land
my life icy cold i weep that i can't
big wings small wings still they flap
through storm with lightning and thunderclap

Their imam, the wonderful Hoopoe lead the good Way
Indeed his blessed way, not leading astray
As they pass me my heart soared in dismay,
but what can i do i seemed forced to stay

Oh Great Hoopoe i pray inside me, you take me
on the journey as a companion i long to be
Fill my soul with burning Faith's fire
Not the damn soul destructing desire

Oh great Hoopoe if you could hear me
Please understand my disability
How do I join you on the journey up high
I am a penguin that cannot fly...
